# Adding a playbook

Every skill in this pack uses the same sections, in this order:

1. `## When to use`
2. `## Setup`
3. `## Rules of thumb`
4. `## Pitfalls`
5. `## Disclaimer`

`description` in the frontmatter is the one-line version of "when to use". `name` matches the folder name. `skill_family` is `options-strategy` for a structure and `options-education` for principles. `last_updated` is the day those sections change. Do not put an application version in the file.

```yaml
---
name: skill-example-strategy
description: One sentence on when to use this playbook.
skill_family: options-strategy
last_updated: YYYY-MM-DD
---
```

## Write the sections

- **When to use.** The situation and the inventory required (shares, cash, or a long option). Not a ticker tip.
- **Setup.** Legs, strikes relative to spot, expiries, and whether the result is a debit or a credit.
- **Rules of thumb.** Defined risk, the assignment or early-close path, and the number that must be stated (cash, debit, max loss, breakeven).
- **Pitfalls.** How this structure is usually mis-stated. Not a new strategy.
- **Disclaimer.** Keep the disclosure. Do not shorten it into a slogan. Education is not a signal and not an order.

Mirror the same headings in `CHECKLIST.md` as a review list.

## Do not add

Scanners, broker schemas, order routing, or live-data clients. A new strategy is another `skill-<name>` folder, not a change to the section order.
